E.M. Grove is a writer. She is the author of several books (hopefully coming soon) about queer people with complicated, funny, darling, dark, and messy lives. All of her work explores themes that are commonly misunderstood as difficult through a warm, human lens.
She holds a degree from Harvard University and lives in New England. Fun fact: E.M. Grove received an award for writing poetry when she was seven.
In my own words…
I write about things most people don’t talk about—things that are tricky, triggering, and sometimes traumatic.
My characters are (more often than not) queer, morally gray, and unlikely to be as annoying about their dark, twisty trauma as most people these days. They live in bodies that are relatable, embarrassing and—gasp—they go through puberty, get kidney stones, and other gross, exciting things.
As we all are, my stories and characters are flawed and funny. They make bad jokes, write corny poetry, and manage heartbreak in unique ways.
I’m not afraid of death nor do I see it as a sad ending, merely a continuation.
